Zoey Dwyer
At Michigan Memorial Funeral Home, families mourning the loss of a loved one can get a little extra comfort and compassion from an unusual source, Zoey, a golden retriever that’s also a much-loved grief therapy dog.

“Zoey can bring so much calm to people who are experiencing real grief and sadness, and that’s what makes her extra special…”

“At a time when we were all extremely sad, Zoey was an unexpected ray of sunshine, especially for the children…”

Zoey received her training through top-tier and nationally recognized programs and is one of the very few, certified and working grief therapy dogs in southeast Michigan.

Zoey, age 3, also visits students and comforts seniors at area nursing homes and as with her work at the funeral home, it’s all volunteered. To unwind after a long day, Zoey plays with socks, slippers and her best friend, Claire the cat.
